Paine advocates the use of taxation to fund a universal old-age and disability pension, as well as a fixed sum to be paid to all citizens on reaching maturity.

Agrarian Justice edition by Thomas Paine Politics Social Sciences eBooks

Thomas Paine was brilliant and very influential in turning the tide in favor of democracy and universal suffrage, but there is no evidence that liberty, the guise under which the American and French revolutions were fought, is any brighter today than in his time. In fact, the light of liberty has grown dimmer, and in no small way due to Thomas Paine. I give the book 5 stars due to its historical importance, zero stars for its understanding of economics and fallacious conclusions.

Agrarian Justice edition by Thomas Paine Politics Social Sciences eBooks Reviews

Very small pamphlet is overpriced and about half of it is just blank pages. The print is about the same size as phone book listings - way too small - may be the worst item I have ever purchased from .
I haven't had time, to read the entire book, but, what I have read, the author seems to be well informed.
A real socialist in the modern sense. Had ideas way ahead of his time. Every one who believes in the constitution should read this. He was not a conservative by today's standards.
Paine lays out a plan for a democratic society that, unfortunately is not followed today in this age of unequal protection.
The pamphlet (sized like as small paperback) is printed with such a same font as to make it readable only with a magnifying glass. I have normal corrected 20/20 vision. Half the book has blank pages. This title is available on the Internet in much more readable format. Will use this item as a coffee mug coaster.
This review pertains to the edition published by Wildside Press, LLC. It had egregious typos on almost every page. The entire book is only 28 pages long and I counted 24 typos. This publication was a huge disappointment.
I have to say this is one of my favorite and one of his most underrated works. This book continues with his radical thinking, not only for the time but even to the present. His universal writing style makes it easy to read even for today which can't be said for other books of the time. The main focus advocates for a proto welfare state to help fight against a large amount of inequality as he explains come from private ownership of land. I also enjoyed his brief, yet solid critiques about the inadequacy of philanthropy to fix income inequality and on the nature of wage labor. I keep being surprised at how revolutionary he was and after 2 centuries how it still holds up.
